BLAST THE MUSIC

Table of Contents

Christian and Gospel music have always been on the rise. We can go through a long history lesson right now but I am just going to give you the synopsis.

"Embodying the spirit of a Gospel Kid, especially one from the vibrant era of the 90s. My upbringing was immersed in the soul-stirring melodies of Commission, Helen Baylor, Hezekiah Walker, John P. Kee, Orlando Draper, Milton Brunson, The Winans, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Mississippi Mass Choir, and many more. Saturdays in our household were dedicated to cleaning up the house while the harmonious tunes of gospel legends filled the air.

But it didn't end there – Sunday mornings were a sacred time, tuned in to Bobby Jones Gospel. This show not only introduced us to emerging artists but also set the rhythm for the day. After watching Bobby Jones Gospel there would be gospel music videos by various artists, signaling that we might just be running a tad late for church. Those were the days when every beat and note was a testament to our devotion.

One of my favorite VHS Gospel Concert was Shakin in the House, Live in L.A. featuring; Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker and Gary Oliver. Below is a video playlist that I found on Youtube:

Now, let’s get to today! We can listen to vessels such as Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Kierra Sheard, Kim Burrell, Tye Tribbett, Maverick City Music, Tribal Music, Imrsqd, Lecrae, Kevin Lemons, Vincent Bohanan, Brvndon P, and Melvin Crispell III. If you need a playlist to hear more, we have a Playlist via iTunes called Gospel Coachella ( Which we hope to host one day). Gospel music has come a long way, and need I say has genres within itself.

Exegesis Moment

To Exegesis a scripture means, to critically explain and interpret the text.

Our image above will give you a visual illustration of how to study the Bible with exegesis mindset but here is my interpretation.

To Trust is having a firm belief in reliability. As believers we should have a firm belief in the Lord, he should always be a reliable friend and source. As mentioned in 1 Timothy 6:15 CSB; God will bring this about in his own time. He is the blessed and only Sovereign. the King of Kings, and Lord of lords, “. Which brings me to the point you should never rely on your finite thinking. We should always seek the will of the Lord, which simply means that you are attempting to find, seeking your purpose in God. To take you back to grammar school, in the scripture, verse 6 it uses the word “will” two times but its use has different usage, this is called Homograph. Homograph are words that spell the same but differ in meaning as per their usage. To seek is WILL, you are making a meaningful moral choice. Once you have seek his WILL, he WILL, show you the path. Upon my research, having a will is a promise statement that you make to a person in which you are saying, you are defiantly going to do something or give something. So, believers! Trust in the will of the Lord, seek him and he will promise to direct you.
